(Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure Water and Theme Park opens for daily operation on Friday, May 27 at 10:30 am, with all of the park’s exciting rides including the top ranked wooden coaster, Rampage, the wet and wild UpSurge!, and BUZZSAW FALLS, Alabama Adventure’s newest family water thrill ride. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy the summer and cool off, Alabama Adventure is perfect for the whole family and so close to home. (Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure Water and Theme Park is proud to announce the opening of BUZZSAW FALLS, a water thrill ride for the entire family on Saturday, May 28 at 10:30am. BUZZSAW FALLS, the first major ride expansion since 2005, is sure to keep guests both cool and thrilled, as riders plunge down a five-story, heart pounding chute for a massive splash. Enormous waves of water will shoot in the air as riders make their final descent splashing into a pool of water, soaking both riders and onlookers. “Alabama Adventure is thrilled about the newest expansion, BUZZSAW FALLS. We look forward to all of our guests getting soaked by our great new ride,” said EJ Randolph, General Manager of Alabama Adventure.

ALABAMA ADVENTURE PARTNERS WITH
SPECIAL OLYMPICS FOR 2011 GAMES

Park to host the third annual lighting of the “Flame of Hope” and start of 2011 Torch Run

(Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure is proud to salute Alabama Law Enforcement and Special Olympics Alabama by hosting the kickoff of the 2011 Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run for the third year. This year’s kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 at 10:00am with the lighting of the “Flame of Hope” at the Front Gate and a torch run through the park. “Alabama Adventure is excited to host the start of the Torch Run for the third year and help law enforcement officers raise money for such a great cause, Special Olympics,” said EJ Randolph, General Manager of Alabama Adventure.

Special Olympics is a charitable organization that provides free, year-round sports training and competition for adults and children with intellectual disabilities. The Torch Run is one of its largest grassroots fundraisers. Officers raise money and then run one to four-mile legs of the race, which ends at the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympic Alabama Games.

As a show of support, Alabama Adventure is donating $2 of every ticket purchased and $3 of every Season Pass purchased on Saturday, May 14 to Alabama Law Enforcement and Special Olympics Alabama. Alabama Adventure will also sell Torch Run t-shirts at the Front Gate. Purchasers of the t-shirts will receive $10 off General Admission price that day.

Media are invited to video and photograph the lighting of the Flame of Hope and the run through Alabama Adventure on Saturday, May 14 at 10:00am. Organizers from Alabama Law Enforcement and Special Olympics Alabama will also be on hand to answer questions.

ALABAMA ADVENTURE PROVIDES RELIEF FOR
LOCAL COMMUNITY
Local Theme Park Collects Relief Items for Storm Victims

(Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure Water and Theme Park and Clear Channel Radio of Birmingham are teaming up to provide relief to the Birmingham Metro Area Community. $10 from each ticket sold this weekend, Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 will be donated to the American Red Cross. A drop off point will be set up in Alabama Adventure’s parking lot where people may donate any items needed for local relief efforts. Relief items included: bottled water, toiletries, non-perishable food items, hand sanitizer, paper products, batteries, flashlights, and blankets. Alabama Adventure will also provide donors with $10 off general admission and free parking. Season Pass holders are encouraged to bring donation items. In addition, Alabama Adventure will accept relief item donations at their office at 5051 Prince Street starting Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 6 during business hours, 9 am to 5 pm, or at the Main Gate during operating hours.

“Alabama Adventure wants to help our community in recovery efforts,” said Alicia Rohan, park spokesperson for Alabama Adventure. Donations will be accepted through the weekend and donated to the American Red Cross. Guests who purchase tickets online will also be given an opportunity to contribute. 100% of the donations will go to the American Red Cross.

(Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure, the state’s largest seasonal employer, will host a job fair on March 5, 2010 from 10 am until 3 pm. The job fair will be held at Alabama Adventure’s main entrance, located at 4599 Alabama Adventure Parkway in Bessemer. Alabama Adventure managers are seeking to fill a variety of positions including Lifeguards, Ride Attendants, Food Services, Guest Services and many more. Alabama Adventure’s Star Theater to Host 3 Top Name Characters

(Bessemer, AL) – Alabama Adventure announces the summer 2011 show line up for the Star Theater. The season will kick off June 11, 2011 with a family filled adventure, “Swingin’ Safari” featuring Curious George. Next, join Bob the Builder starting July 2, 2011 with the show, “A Whole Lot of Buildin’ Goin’ On.” Finally, Clifford the Big Red Dog will perform starting July 23, 2011 in “Superstar Funfest.” All shows will run three times per day with shows six days a week. ALABAMA ADVENTURE DONATES OVER $6,800
TO BIRMINGHAM RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

 

Birmingham, AL – Alabama Adventure is donating over $6,800 to the Ronald McDonald House. The check presentation will be September 22 at 10 a.m. at the Ronald McDonald House (1700 4th Avenue South Birmingham, AL). Alabama Adventure partnered with the local area McDonald’s restaurants for a summer promotion to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House.

Proceeds from Alabama Adventure will provide operational support for Birmingham’s Ronald McDonald House, a home-away-from-home for sick and injured children and their families who must travel to Birmingham to receive medical treatment. Families donate between $5-$10 per night per room for services that cost $65.00 per night per room to provide.

The money donated by Alabama Adventure will help provide about 104 nights at the Ronald McDonald House.

Miracle Makers Weekend a Success at Alabama Adventure

 

(Bessemer, AL) – Miracle Makers Weekend at Alabama Adventure proves to be a success for both the park and Children’s Hospital of Alabama. The local Water and Theme Park is donating $11,875 raised from ticket sales on Labor Day Weekend. Alabama Adventure helped kickoff Miracles Makers Month with a “Weekend of Fun, Music, and Caring.” Alabama Adventure General Manager, EJ Randolph states, “It is important to be a part of this great community and give back. Children’s Hospital has been a great partner for Alabama Adventure. We hope to continue to raise money for such a great cause through Miracle Makers Weekend.”

Miracle Makers Weekend featured music from Josh Golden on Saturday, September 4 and Rodney Atkins on Sunday, September 5. Ticket sales for the weekend contributed to the donation made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama.

Miracle Makers Month is a statewide fundraising and awareness campaign for Children’s Hospital of Alabama. September has been designated as the focus of this year’s fund raising efforts, with a goal to raise $100,000 to benefit children in all counties of Alabama.

The check presentation will be Friday, September 24 at 2:00pm at Children’s Hospital of Alabama during the radio-a-thon.
